Summary: Legal Aid of the Bluegrass seeks an Accounting and Administration Clerk for its Morehead, Kentucky based office. This position is a paid internship opportunity of up to 20 hours per week or more depending on organizational needs. The clerk will work with administrative and accounting staff to assist in performing the operational needs of the organization. Responsibilities:
The Accounting and Administration Clerk assists in performing basic operational functions of the organization.
The Accounting and Administration Clerk will:
- Assist in performing grant compliance reviews and reporting
- Review grant guidelines, award documents, and other grant related administrative functions
- Assist with file maintenance to include scanning and filing of client and administrative documents
- Work with accounting staff to post general journal entries and cost accounting functions
- Assist accounting staff in preparing financial reports and various accounting statements
- Maintain accurate and complete files and records and prepare timely and complete forms and records required for client services and/or related administrative tasks
- Enter accurate data into LABG’s electronic case management system
- Interact with clients, other staff members, service providers, and court and administrative officials in a professional, appropriate, collegial, and cooperative manner
- Identify and pursue individual training needs and work with Program Administration to address those needs
- Actively participate in staff and planning meetings, task forces, and trainings if required
- Maintain time records of all work-related activities and enter accurate data on a timely basis into LABG’s electronic case management system
Requirements, Skill & Abilities include:
- Must hold a high school diploma.
- Recent graduates and current students of a four-year degree from an accredited College or University or an Associate’s Degree in accounting, business, finance or related field preferred.
- Ability to use office and computer technology, including case management and word processing software.
- Ability to balance client-advocacy and administrative responsibilities.
