As is tradition, Legal Aid of the Bluegrass will recognize the service of volunteer lawyers in our service area at our upcoming pro bono events. “This is one of my favorite times of year” says LABG Executive Director, Joshua Crabtree. He continues “It is easy to be overwhelmed by the large number of requests we receive for legal help. But once a year, we get to celebrate those lawyers in our community that join us in the fight to make justice for all a reality.”
Our pro bono event series kicks off this Thursday at our NEW Ashland office location. Guests will be invited to explore the new space, enjoy music by The Woodsheep, food and drinks by Blazer’s Catering, and join with us in recognizing volunteer lawyers through the Attorney Access Committee. To RSVP for this event e-mail AACpbevent@lablaw.org.
Next is our Annual NKVL Awards Luncheon on Thursday, October 12. This event is at the NEW Hotel Covington located just down the street from our administrative offices. The Law Student of the Year, Nick of Time, Fourth Annual “Justice for All”, and Pro Bono Attorney of the Year awards will be presented at this luncheon. To RSVP for this event e-mail NKVLpbevent@lablaw.org.
The pro bono event series will wrap up in Lexington on Thursday, October 26 with a cocktail reception in the heart of downtown at the Bigg Blue Martini. Outstanding Lay Volunteer, Friend of Pro Bono, and Pro Bono Attorney of the Year awards will be presented. Jesse Crenshaw, recipient of the 2017 Access to Justice Award will also be recognized.
