Medicare

SHIP provides assistance to Medicare beneficiaries or anyone aged 60 years old or older in 35 Central, Northern and Northeastern counties. We help people make informed decisions about the programs that affect their quality of life, such as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Medigap insurance and other benefit programs.

Through funding from the National Council on Aging, SHIP is a Benefits Enrollment Center. SHIP provides assistance to resolve benefit issues, as well as to apply for money saving benefit programs. 

Our public benefits counselors provide high quality assistance to our clients with the following goals in mind:

TO ASSIST WITH RESOLVING COMPLEX BENEFIT ISSUES


COMPLETE APPLICATIONS FOR BENEFIT PROGRAMS

Such as Extra Help; Medicare Savings Programs; SNAP benefits; Medicaid Spend Down; Homestead Exemption; and patient assistance programs through drug manufacturers.

Need Legal Help

Legal aid protects the rights of people living at or near poverty with legal problems such as:  housing, consumer, family and public benefits. We ensure access to justice for all people, including veterans, the elderly, those who are disabled and victims of domestic violence. You can call us to apply for assistance Monday through Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. or Friday 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Calls are answered in the order they are received.
