LABG’s Latest Video Steers Kentuckians through the Criminal Record Expungement Process

Criminal record expungements are often essential for those seeking new employment and a fresh start in life. Unfortunately, getting a criminal record expunged can feel like a daunting process. Legal Aid of the Bluegrass (LABG) has developed a short animated video, “Criminal Record Expungement in Kentucky,” to educate the public about how to complete the record expungement process themselves.

The video is the second in a series LABG has created with funding from the Kentucky Bar Foundation. It informs viewers about which kinds of charges can be expunged, the documents required to complete an expungement application, and how to file a special motion to waive an expungement petition filing fee. Through this accessible format, LABG hopes to reduce the barriers faced by self-represented people as they go through the court system without an attorney.
